Day 1c – Contemplating Perceptions

Published by at 12:16 am under Practical application

The question is, how do you make the switch from creating your voice through reaction and imitation to creating your voice through thoughtful application of knowledge? The answer is, “Practice.”  But what do you practice?  You practice the application of what you have learned through observation and study.

Observations:  What do you like about your voice?  In your journal (or on page 119 of your book) write down five things that you like about your voice.

For example:  I sound friendly on the phone.  Or people often say they think my voice is sexy.  Or I know how to use my voice to be persuasive.

Now, write down five things that you would like to change about your voice.

Study: I’ve agreed to be your voice buddy for the month, so if you would like to make a change in your voice but don’t know how to do it, write me a comment and I’ll see what I can do to help you.  Otherwise, you can find many answers to how to make those changes in the book, and I’m sure that those of you who have it have already started using many of the tips and techniques I describe ( ;-) ).  You may also want to consult some of the resources in my blogroll.
