Author of Can You Hear Me Now? Harnessing the power of your vocal impact in 31 days, and Narratus co-founder, Kate Peters has been developing the company’s Communication Impact Services concept for more than 15 years. As an expert guest, she has been featured on radio and television, providing insight about how the sound of a speaker’s voice supports, or betrays, their message. The Vocal Impact method to communicating with impact and influence is a science-based, performance proven approach that is grounded in a deep understanding of vocal physiology and muscle control, treating communication as an athletic endeavor and systematically building skills and performance discipline in the communicator. Our Practitioners help people to create communication that aligns their personal intention and business strategy with compelling content and purposeful delivery choices that impact listeners. Kate has a soft place in her heart for helping technologists and engineers communicate more effectively, an interest that was piqued with her work as the smoke and mirrors behind demos of one of the first voice-actuated computers, in 1980. This interest eventually led Kate to help prepare and strengthen TEDMED and TEDx speakers to perform with confidence. She began developing her approach to Communication Impact after a long career as a vocal performer and pedagogue. Kate is an award-winning singer, and has premiered over thirty new works of classical and/or avant-garde music. Equally at home in concert as well as stage productions, Kate is a 1998 Eugene O’Neil Cabaret Fellow and has performed Music Theater around the country.
